4/6/2020 Week of April 6We will be working collaboratively through Microsoft Teams moving forward. This week, I ask that you log into your Microsoft 365 accounts using your school-assigned username and your password to familiarize yourself with the platform. It is in our Master Team "H9 English Master Class" --> "Graphic Story Project" where you may begin providing your thoughtful comments and reactions to your peers' graphic stories by clicking on the reply button under the story you want to comment on. I recommend that you take the time to read through all stories available so far at least once. Note that graphic stories in this section include submissions from both Ms. Gress's and Ms. Dalia's classes. It's time to get collaborative and engage with all your Honors 9 peers! If you haven't done so already, please complete the Persepolis Graphic Story Project this week and follow the directions provided below to submit it to Ms. Dalia. I will be available to help answer questions via remind and email between the hours of 8am and 3pm each day. If you have something urgent that needs my attention, please include “URGENT” in your email’s or remind message’s subject line. I will try my best to respond to all emails within 24 hours. In additional, if you have yet to do so, please finish and upload your Persepolis Synthesis Essay.

I appreciate you reaching out to get clarification on how the current school closure will be handled.
Due to the unprecedented nature of the situation that we are currently working through, and our inability to conduct in-person classes, the Issaquah School District and Issaquah Education Association are currently working collaboratively to determine how to provide emergency educational learning resources for the students in our district. We believe we will be able to support the intellectual engagement of your student over the next several weeks, even as we cannot hope to reproduce the rich educational experiences online that occur in our classrooms. While this experience will be one that challenges us all, we believe as educators that we will be able to provide learning opportunities for your students even as we miss seeing them daily. Thank you for your patience. Ms. Dalia 3/16/2020 Week of March 16Students and Parents/Guardians:
The Issaquah School District leadership team is currently working on creating an education model that works for all students. In the meantime, teachers and students are not required to follow the regular instruction and assessment models we typically follow in class. That said, six weeks is a long time! I highly recommend keeping up with all your school work at your own pace at home. For Honors Lit & Comp I, you can continue working on your synthesis essay this week. The first step to that progress can be to complete the essay outline (see all resources included in the note below). If you choose to work on this outline, please submit it on turnitin.com. I will be checking turnitin.com periodically this week, and I will provide detailed feedback on all outlines submitted online. Please note, that this is NOT a required assignment at this point. However, I highly recommend not taking a complete break from all school work because it will make getting back into the work that much harder! Please email me if you have any questions.
